What Is Equol?
Equol is a metabolite of soy isoflavones, produced by certain bacteria in the intestine during the digestion of soy isoflavones. It has been found to possess some phytoestrogenic activity. The ability to produce equol varies among individuals, with some able to produce significant amounts while others cannot. Equol is believed to have potential health benefits such as protecting breast health, reducing menopausal symptoms, and improving skin health.
