What Is Gallic Acid?
Propyl Gallate is a preservative commonly used as an antioxidant in food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. It is an ester compound formed by propyl and gallic acid. Propyl gallate appears as fine white to creamy-white crystalline powder. Odorless or with a faint odor. Melting point 150 °C. Insoluble in water. Slightly bitter taste.
